... and this absurd message appears:
never seen it before in 30 years of Trados use! what is happening??
And now, when I click the keys to save a segment and move to the next, Trados crashes and is closed - EACH TIME!!
As first step, in Editor with opened file go to View and "Reset window layout". This should already help.
If not, File -> Setup -> Manage user profiles -> Reset user profile.
If still no joy, report here.

No way, that only cancelled my settings, which I had to put back in place. I am trying to work on packages on which I worked, where I have to make changes to save in my TM, but every time I push the usual keys to save, Trados closes. The only different thing I did recently is that I transferred my licence on another PC (portable) for a week and today I have put it back on this PC, but it worked at the beginning. Could it be due to the files themselves?
On any of these files in my packages, if I try to save by clicking on the Confirm button, I get the absurd message above; if I save with keys, Trados crashes.
I want to cry. I need to work!!!
Ok I think it's the past packages, because I tried with a more recent one and there was no problem. But why is this happening on old packages?
Hi Valeria,
Do you save the packages locally or are they on OneDrive or something similar, some shared folders?

I work exclusively on my desktop, I receive the packages and send back the return package from my desktop. But I think it was some corrupted file, because fortunately that is not happening on the new package I have just received today. Could there be an issue with the keyboard, in your opinion?

Did something changed recently on this computer that might influence the keyboards? a Windows update, a new software installed? You can check the keyboard shortcuts - going File-Options- Keyboard Shortcuts
And you mentioned that you put back the license on this computer today - this means what exactly? Did you install it again or just activated it again?
As for the error, it may indicate a corrupted file, yes, but I am not sure what you did exactly when switching between the two computers and how you moved the packages and the files between the two computers.
If paths changed for the files, but you tried opening them as if from their previous path, this may throw an error because Trados won't find the files where they were supposed to be.

just entered the activation code again, after deactivating it from the laptop. I mentioned the keyboard because some commands are beng missed strangely... but now it is going better... strange things!
No no no, I did not move the packages. I had just recalled a past package (that I had in my files) on which I worked last week in order to enter some changes, and this could not be done on some of the files, with the effects I described above. I did not move the files between folders - I know that problem, I would have realilzed it. None of this... puzzled!
