Cannot open translated file

Dear All,

I have translated a large file and finalized it so my TM is up to date. However, I cannot open the generated target or export file based on my translation.

I then tried to import the translatable file (after having renamed it), in order to retranslate it based on my TM, but this gives the same result.

All tips are welcome!

When you merged segments over paragraph boundaries there was most probably a warning, that this may damage the file structure. If such segments contain illustration, field or similar tag, merging these segments renders the file unusable. Please do the following:

    • Test if the process will work correctly: open the file for translation as single file, copy all source to target, save target as (via File -> Save target as) and check this file. If it opens, everything will work fine. Close file without saving. You can now do that:
    • Create a new project with the original source file
    • Add the translation memory from the previous translation
    • Run the project preparation with a batch task including pretranslation
    • Open the file for translation in Editor of Studio
    • Translate the missing parts
    • Do NOT merge anything over paragraph boundaries, instead split your translation accordingly. Make sure to insert ALL tags in place. Do NOT confirm such segments. This will prevent a "pollution" of your TM with possible cross translation and other erorrs
    • When finished, the translated file should open with no problem

The messages you ignored have no relevance to what is happening here.

Can you share the Word file for testing? If so, please send to info at tts-td.com
