If certain segments are infected and the source file is IndDsign, try to open the idml in InDesign and reexport it as idml again. Tons of tags are very untypical for InDesign files, these are mostly nearly tag free, if created properly.

Furthermore, I translate various types of files that are managed by an agency (the PMs manage the TM, Termbase, etc. and send me the packages to translate), I'm not allowed to change anything.

I have to say that this doesn't only happen with InDesign files.

I think the problem is with the tags because when I select the diamond for ‘no tags text’ in ‘VIEW’, it worked, but I only tried it in this last file where I had problems. But I can't understand what's going on.

Could it be a bug? How can we fix it?

You can always ask your PM to do what I suggest.

But if that problem persists, please try to do the following:

• Go to File -> Setup -> Manage user profiles and reset the user profile. If you have changed settings, these will be lost, if you did not create a backup of your profile before. Doing that now can be helpful, so when asked save the current profile in a decent place and with a meaningful name.
• Restart Trados Studio
• Open any unproblematic file in the Editor and go to View -> Reset window layout
• Restart Studio once again

Hopefully this helps. If not, have you imported any old user profiles or project templates? If not, which is the version of your program and the program used by your PM? Do you have any plugins installed?

I've already asked my PM about it, but no error has been reported by the other traslators. She has no idea...

I've done all resets as you explained. After all steps, I've tried 2 different files: In Design and Word, both with problematic segments, but the problem persists. It shuts down when I click on the same specifcs segments. The only way to work is selecting the diamond for ‘no tags text’ in ‘VIEW’, as I said before.

Do you have any plugins installed?

No, just the default of Trados: Language Weaver Provider and Open AI Provider for Trados.

Have you also tried to reset Trados to default settings?
