Is it possible to add pre-defined field information to new terms in a termbase?

Question

Dear Studio 2015 users, 
 I am about to work on a Studio project that has a termbase sent by the client. 
 I am planning to add new terms on the fly to that termbase, but I would like to label these terms as "draft". Is there a feature in termbase that works like "field" in Studio, that would add that information automatically without having to label it manually for each new term?

 I think many translators only use MultiTerm at a basic level so you're probably in good company! This seemed like a good opportunity to create a simple howto video to tackle what is probably a fairly common scenario. I hope this explains things a little for you:

Deleting fields is often protected to ensure there is no corruption. If you want to remove fields you may have to recreate the termbase by exporting the content and importing it back into your new definition. Piece of cake with the Glossary Converter for the simplistic models you're using.

 When modifying a termbase definition, you can only add fields (and picklist values) but not remove any because this would create problems with existing entries, MultiTerm would not know what to do with entries that already have values in the fields you try to delete. 
 If you want to remove fields or picklist values form an existing termbase, you need to create a new termbase based on the definition of the existing one and remove the fields you want to remove (it will be possible in this case because you create a new termbase). Once you have done this, import the exported entries from your exiting termbase into the new one. MultiTerm will only import the fields and values for the fields that exist in the new termbase and drop the ones for the fields you have deleted.

No there isn't. These are not just settings, they are changes to the structure of the database. So you need to do each one individually. The easiest way is going to be to use the Glossary Converter. Export to Excel, then add your new field headings and convert back to SDLTB. Then add your input models to each one. 
 
How many different termbases do you have that requires such a lot of work?

You can export the termbase definition (XDT) and input model (XDM) to a file and use them again for another termbase. 
An XDT file can be used to create a new termbase based on the existing definition, adapting it if necessary. 
An XDM file can be imported into an existing termbase; you may however need to go through the wizard again in order to make sure the input model applies to this termbase (because the fields in the input model must obviously match the definition).
