Bug during Update from a bilingual review in Studio 2015

If I try to import the reviewed Word documents by selecting the whole folder (Add > Review Documents from Folder), I get a notification that the file names do not match. However, the file names DO match. If I add the Word files one by one, it works just fine. Any way to fix this?

  • I have another issue now, with the update of locked segments. So the external reviewer updated the content of locked segments. First, when I tried to import the corrections, I got a notification that changed cannot be imported because the content is locked. Then I tried to unlock the locked segments and got a notification that changes cannot be imported because the segment status got changed. Any way around it?
  • The segments have been locked by purpose? Than the first import with no changes to locked segments is correct. However, if you wish to have the segments updated nonetheless, save the reviewed file from the reviewer with a new name. Go to Studio, unlock all segments in the file and export for external review once again. Now open the exported file and the file from the reviewer you stored in the previous step. Copy the column with the target text (please DO not copy the column heading, but just the column with text). The easiest way: split the table, so that the table heading is separated from the rest of the text. Now copy the column. In the file now exported for external review from Studio click in the first cell containing target text - this is the first cell below the table heading and insert the copied content. Of course you will have to accept changes in the previous file and switch off track changes in the new exported file. DO NOT change anything else in the exported file, save it and import. This way you should have the segments updated as requested.
    Regards. Jerzy

  • Hi Jerzy,
Thanks for the tip. The segments were locked for translator, but during external review the changes were made by the client, so I do have to implement them. Since I have many files and the volume of locked content is relatively low, I figured it will be easier if I just go through the files and update the locked segments manually, as I'm a bit worried to mess up the tables.
IMHO, there should be an option to update locked segments in a more straight forward way. I understand the idea that segments are locked for a reason and the current setup is made with intention to avoid unnecessary modifications, however, there can be many exceptions when the content that has been locked during one step of the project should be modified later on. I think a notification something like "are you sure you want to update the locked segments" would be enough.
