Adding files to an existing Studio project

Hi,

I don't understand how to add new files to an existing Studio project. When I use the Add new files botton, the files are added on my network, the xlf are created and even pretranslated, but when the translator opens the project, he does not see the added files. He has to open the xlf directly to be able to work. How can I make sure the translator will see the added files when he opens the project?

Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks!

Caroline

  • I don't think you need to create a new project all the time, but it seems likely that you are doing something locally that is not being shared. So your colleagues need to refresh what they are seeing. Maybe they have duplicated the original project and now the sdlproj they are opening doesn't contain any references to the files you added?

I don't know really, but it's bound to be something like this. Could even be related to the projects.xml which will be local on each machine, so perhaps you now have duplicate projects and whilst you think they opened the same one you have they haven't at all.

Take a look at these files on their machines and see if they contain the same information as you. Might help you understand how you need to work without using a solution that control this for you.
