Studio 2015 SP2 CU4 will not open error Studio 4/Studio Menu Maker, urgent please

Hi, I finally decide to upgrade my work environment and it is broken, so urgent assistance appreciated, please. After installing SP2, I got this error, still there after installing CU4. I have upgraded Multiterm, too. See error message detail below. I'm hoping it is a question of cleaning an add on folder, but I'm afraid I don't recall how? Thanks all

Hi Sian,

Looks an easy one from the error message. Try deleting the memumaker shortcut from here and then restart Studio:

c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\SDL\SDL Trados Studio 2014\OpenExchange Apps\

Hi Paul thanks for coming back to me, but :(... I hoped it would be easy, too, but I don't seem to have that app in my add ons... I don't believe I ever installed it in my live environment, only my beta one; but if I had it on my live one, I must have uninstalled it before upgrading. Didn't make a note, sorry.

Next thoughts, please?! thanks!

Addendum - I have WordCloud, it sits in C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11\Plugins

Hi Sian,

I'm reading this post again and can't believe I gave you the path to Studio 2014!! I have no idea why I thought you were using that! But the error message is clear and Studio knows nothing about menumaker so you must have installed it at some point.

Please check this location:

c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\SDL Trados Studio 2015 Apps\

Then remove any memumaker shortcut from there.

If it still doesn't work then I suggest you uninstall Studio and delete the Studio 4 folder altogether because that error message is impossible without Studio seeing the menumaker somewhere!

Ha ha, Paul, no, I guessed that one - see my screen shots, the 2015 folder doesn't contain Menu Maker either, only SDLXLIFF split and merge. So... I'm guessing I did have it installed at some point, and uninstalled it before upgrading. And the uninstall has left something behind, maybe in the registry... but rather desperate, if you can think of any other actions I could take? Maybe I need to uninstall Studio and reinstall the whole thing, would like to avoid that as rather long and tedious. Thanks!

** edit - oh, damn - I see you do suggest to do exactly that. Sigh. OK then... but I think the menu maker dev team need to know their uninstall may be leaving something behind? thanks
