I haven't tested this yet but my theory would be your language codes are wrong.  The ISO code for Latin America is actually es-419 so perhaps try es_419.aff and es_419.dic and edit the config file appropriately.

There are so many now it's getting tricky to track them, but the easiest way to see what Studio is using is to open a file for translation as a single document translation  in the language direction you want and the file name will contain the language codes being used.  You can see this immediately at the top of the application.  So I opened a sample file and I see this:

I agree both with Paul and Nora. However, if it still doesn't work with the code they have suggested, you might have to do an additional change in the .aff file. Say that you have already renamed the dictionary files as es-419.aff and es-419.dic. Now you'll have to open es-419.aff file via a text editor (Wordpad or Notepad) and in the second line you'll see something like this:

LANG es_MX (or any other ISO code)

Just change the ISO code to es-419, save the file and that's all. You might have to move the file to Desktop first and change it there, and then copy it with administrator rights back to the HunspellDictionaries folder.
