"TranslationProviderThrewException"- SDL Trados Studio 2011 error when analysing files in various TMs

For a few months I've had this problem. It doesn't seem to happen with small files, only ones that have more words? Trados will go through the usual process of converting to translatable format but won't analyse as it keeps showing the error "TranslationProviderThrewException" -

I've tried exporting from my TMs (which work fine when I send them to translators or use them in any other way) to re-import into a new TM and it won't import either, also comes up with an error message -

I'm up-to-date in terms of updates.

Anybody else had this and have a solution? Please help, this is really delaying my quoting/project commencement.

  • Hi Paul,

I renamed the '10.0.0.0' folder to '10.0.0.0._old' as suggested. It then created a new 10.0.0.0. folder when I opened Trados again. When you say 'reset' Trados, I assume you mean deactivating and then activating again? This problem is also happening with my colleague who also uses 2011 on another laptop. The problem still exists - the new XML report is at the bottom of my original post (I can't add it here) in case this contains any more information? I've been trying to analyse this file for 2 days now and cannot quote to my client until I have analysed this. What else can I try?

    Thanks,
    Claire
