"TranslationProviderThrewException"- SDL Trados Studio 2011 error when analysing files in various TMs

For a few months I've had this problem. It doesn't seem to happen with small files, only ones that have more words? Trados will go through the usual process of converting to translatable format but won't analyse as it keeps showing the error "TranslationProviderThrewException" -

I've tried exporting from my TMs (which work fine when I send them to translators or use them in any other way) to re-import into a new TM and it won't import either, also comes up with an error message -

I'm up-to-date in terms of updates.

Anybody else had this and have a solution? Please help, this is really delaying my quoting/project commencement.

  • Hi Paul,

    As you know from Twitter, this problem is still occurring. I read a similar post here community.sdl.com/.../3284 so I tried;

    Moving my existing TMs from my DropBox folder to my Desktop. That worked, but only once. When my client sent revised files and I had to re-analyse, it didn't work again - same as before, no details about the error, just the same message.

    I've cleared down my laptop so it's running much, much quicker.

    I've moved all of my TMs into a new folder on Dropbox, that doesn't work.

    I've deleted the TMs from my Desktop that I copied over earlier, copied a new version with a slightly different TM name (I just deleted one space, that's all) then tried to re-analyse, and that also gets to 97% and then fails with the same error.

    Any suggestions? I'm in the same situation where I have a client waiting for a quote that I can't provide.

    Thanks
    Claire
