SDL.Community.SDLPLuginInstaller has stopped working

Some of our users cannot install sdlplugin files, they get SDL.Community.SDLPLuginInstaller has stopped working.

Already repaired Studio.

They also have the correct access rights so I'm guessing some dependency issue, likely .Net?

  • Hi Thomas,

We investigated the error message as well this morning and it seems to be Win7 related.   Are these affected machines running Win7?  The advice there was to update to Win 8.1 (maybe not desirable in your environment though), and also to make sure you have the latest .NET framework installed.

We did find a small utility here (from Microsoft) you could use to verify the .NET versions on your machine:

This just allows you to verify the installs:

If you need it you can also find the appropriate .NET version here:

Maybe something here is going to help?

    Regards

    Paul
