Studio error message: target language does not match the expected project language

Hallo,

I am using Studio 2015, SR2.

I have created a project by making the relevant project settings like TM, TM, Language pair, translation direction etc..

However, when try to click on a file to start translation, an error message:

saying that the "target language does not match the anticipated project language"

I am trying to translate DE to EN (UK). and so far as I can see this setting is correct.

Studio only gives issues this error message but I have not seen where - if possible - I could make changes check?

Can some one help me here with please?.

Hallo,
Further to the problem info above, kindly allow me two more points to the a.m. error report

1. Jerzy very kindly suggested to check the language settings in the source file.
So, Ii have opened the source file in editor and checked the settings for "source-language" (here DE) and "target language" (here EN).
These settings are correct.

2. I can translate the same file as a single file (i.e. independent of the project). In this case, Studio does not report any error. The files can be opened and translated without any problem.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

In fact this is indeed strange, as in case of language mismatch Studio would not allow you to add files and/or TM, if the language pair does not match...

Please then compare the settings of a single file project - when you open the file as single file, which languages are used?
In fact this is indeed strange, as in case of language mismatch Studio would not allow you to add files and/or TM, if the language pair does not match...

Hi Jerzy,

Also in single file translation - it is the same setting as in case of the project, i.e.
Source language: German (Germany) and target language: English (United Kingdom)

I have also checked the "language pair" setting in Project, it seems to be correct as well!
I have hardly any clue where else to look for?

Hi Jerzy,
I fully understand that you are extremely busy, please don't worry.
I will continue to check and may be some other expert may have a clue ;-))

One option that came to my mind is to deinstall and reinstall the Studio 2015 - may be that could be a solution.
Whatever, I will have to try different options....

Hi Shyam,

Perhaps check that the project template you are using for these files does have the languages you wish to use in it? I wouldn't expect this error to be thrown but you never know.

Hi Paul,

I am using:
1. Default project template.
Unless there is some hidden option, so far as I can see, the language settings are correct. Have screenshot for that.

2. keeping everything to a minimum, i.e. just one TM, and only one TB. These have been used for translating single files.
So I know that these are working.

3. In the "settings for batch preparation"
- German(Germany) --> English(UK)

Analysis
Pre-translation of files
I am not sure what the analysis is doing. Pre-translation is apparently done successfully, because after completion of the project
building process, it shows in percentage (bar) how-much has already been translated.
But then the Studio trips and the error "Mismatch between target language and project language is displayed"

4. Though, I didn't de- and reinstall the Studio, but I used the so called "repair" option for Studio 2015, SR2 under Windows
"System_control", restarted the PC, created a new project --- But the result is same, It shows the same "language mismatch" error
message.

I have screenshots of each step of project creation (12 in total), but I think it might be too much to post them all here. If you would like to have a look at anyone or all at them, please let me know.

What could I try next, I am open for any suggestion ..

Hi Paul,

in conjunction with the issue above, it occurs to me that while translating single file in Studio I could see the following warning:

At that time the opinion was that it could be safely neglected.

Could it be that although this warning is not shown when the file is opened in a project, it causes the mismatch problem ?

Would you kindly consider if something could be done about it please?

Hi Shyam,

Have you tried with source-language = "de-de" and target-language "en-gb"? I'm not sure it works with short codes "de" and "en".

Hi Shyam,

Now that you show this screenshot I'm less worried. This isn't an error, it's just telling you the verification failed because the language codes are wrong. You can turn off the verification if you don't want it. Check the filetype verification settings.

Sometimes life can be so easy.
Thanks for your wonderful tip. One and half days of troubleshooting is over.

I tried in two files, changed the "de" to "de-de" and "en" to "en-gb" as you suggested -- it worked immediately.
Also the warning posted above (in single file translation mode has disappeared.

I now need to change all files accordingly and then the I can proceed.

Hi Paul,
That is good news.

Is what you are saying is that I don't need to change each "de" into "de-de" and "en" into "en-gb" manually and i can just switch off file type verifications settings?
I believe this independent of working in "single file translation" and project based files?
Where is the option to disable "file type checking" located ?
