I'm sorry to share some sad news with the SDL community this morning. Sian Cooper passed away yesterday after battling against cancer for several years.
I was fortunate to work on a big project with Sian earlier this year, and was amazed the way she cheerfully tackled the everyday challenges of our work while coping uncomplainingly with her increasingly complex health problems. She said, “acceptance is liberation”.
Sian was enthusiastic, intelligent, determined and very brave. A great inspiration for many translators.
She will be sorely missed.
