TMs and project folders disappeared - did anyone ever encounter something similar?

Dear all,

I have been working with Trados Studio 2014 for several years now and a few days ago half of my major Translation Memories together with the related project folders "disappeared". Not only from Trados TM List, but also from the folder that I created (on my computer/external hard drive) when working with a certain translation agency.

I inspected every nook and cranny of my computer, but the TMs and the files are gone... :-(

As I am clueless and shocked about this event, I wonder if anyone of you has an idea of where they might have gone - or may it be some kind of bug?

    I guess you tried this already, but you might consider:

    • to check the Bin folder in case they were just deleted.
    • to search for your SDLTM files in your entire had drive (in Windows Explorer) in case they were just moved.
    • to check that the folder isn't really there, like if it is hidden, for example. To check this, go to Windows Explorer, select Options, View tab, and chck the box Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK. If you see your missing folder, you'll have to unhide it via its Properties, in Windows Explorer as well.

    The behaviour of dissapearing from the Translations Memories View in Studio is consistent with anyone of these 3 possibilities (TM's deleted, moved or hidden).

    I hope you can find your TMs.
