Can you try splitting them into two projects, 225 in one and 225 in the other. See if one or both struggle and then split the struggling one again. Keep doing that until you find the file(s) causing the problem.

If you could share the files I'd happily take a look for you as it's tricky to guess the reason when working in the dark like this.

I already tried splitting the files and importing only parts of the project, with the same result. I am really at a loss here and would very much appreciate if you could have a look at the files. 

By the way, I have also tried importing the files from and to very simple folder structures like "C:\a\", just to make sure that the issue isn't caused by the length of any path.

Hi Nico,

I have some more feedback on this now and we are wondering what your client uses to create these files?  The Studio TTX filter expects empty segments to look like this:

<Tuv Lang="DE-DE"></Tuv>

But in your files they look like this and the Studio filter rejects them:

<Tuv Lang="DE-DE"/>

I did try to fix this by running the file through Workbench again, but without the settings file I can't validate this.  So perhaps your client can help you with this?
