wouldn't it be easier if MT engines got installed automatically with Studio installation?

Well, which ones do you want?  SDL LanguageCloud and Google do get installed automatically with Studio.  Then there are many others, all that require separate paid accounts to use, that are available through the app store.

The same goes with other apps. Couldn't they just be an integral part of Studio?

There's close to 200 apps already and they're growing.  This is also just what you see on the appstore.  Many companies create their own on a regular basis to help with things specific to the way they work, and integrated into their business systems.  Don't you think Studio would become a little convoluted and bloated if everything was pre-installed and new apps were added with every update?
