Optionally have termbase hit list (triggered by Ctrl+Shift+L) open expanded

I just submitted the following idea over at http://ideas.sdltrados.com/default.asp (which is till "Awaiting Review"):

Can you make it optional to have the list opened expanded, rather than shrunk down to a tiny size as it is currently. I have plenty of screen space and would like a better overview of what's in it.

I would also love it if:

a. the list was alphabetical
b. source and target were shown horizontally, rather than vertically stacked. not sure how this would work with synonyms though

  • By "pane already available", I assume you mean the "Term Recognition" pane, right? Yes, I already have the "Term Recognition" pane docked vertically (on the right side of my screen), and so can always see it. However, the difference between that and the termbase hit list triggered by Ctrl+Shift+L (incidentally, does this list have an official name yet?) is that when translating in the target box, I can keep my fingers on the keyboard, press Ctrl+Shift+L, and immediately have Studio insert something from the list that pops up by merely clicking Enter. This is very fast, and (potentially) intuitive. Quickly inserting sth from the "Term Recognition" pane, on the other hand, involves many more steps, and cannot even be done by keyboard alone!

The best I can think of at the moment is to use the Next View shortcut, switch to the "Term Recognition" pane, scroll down/up the pane and from there use the mouse to right-click on an entry to insert it in my target box.

Of course, I can scan the "Term Recognition" pane visually and find what I want to use, and start typing the first letter of it and AutoSuggest will do the rest, but … this is assuming there are no more than X many entries shown in the "Term Recognition" pane (which I find is often not the case), because if there are more, I will need to scroll the window to search for what I am looking for, meaning I will have to go the route sketched above with the Next View shortcut.

The Ctrl+Shift+L termbase hit list has a lot of potential, but I think it needs a little love. It could be transformed into sth much more useful.
