Trailing spaces bug still present in Studio 2017

Hi Paul,

Are there any plans to fix the bug concerning trailing spaces in segments not being respected? I was a bit disappointed to see that nothing has changed in Studio 2017 in this respect. It's really crucial for WS projects that trailing spaces are being kept. Otherwise, auto-propagation is entirely useless.

In general, I keep wondering why a TM tool does not save the translations the way I confirm them. Isn't this the key purpose of a TM tool?

Addressing this bug in the near future would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Stefan

  • Hi Daniel,

As said previously, this applies to all projects exported from SDL World Server. Whenever there are several sentences in one paragraph, the space separating the sentences within the same paragraph are put at the end of the segment. And regardless if they *should* be in the source or not: As long as they *are* there, they shouldn't be ignored by Studio, don't you agree? I mean, if the source is not as Studio expects it to be, it cannot simply pretend it is and treat the target as if it was...
This behaviour (I still name it a bug) regularly costs me quite some time, be it translation or review.

    Best regards,
    Stefan
