I have a lot of documents I want to use to create new translation memories. I just don't know how to start.
I guess I have to start with WIN ALIGN but I cannot save any win align projects so the .tmx files don't get into the TM (if I may say)
Can you help me out with that to begin with.
I just don't know if I do the right thing

Could you please be more precise with your problem on saving WinAlign projects?
OTOH you should not use TMX but better the TXT export and then use this for the TM upgrade process in Studio.

I'd like to help you with this problem if possible. Do you have any more specific information as Jerzy asked? The sort of information that is useful is error messages if you get any, some idea of how far you got in the process before getting a problem etc.
The TXT approach mentioned is better as the export to TMX in WinAlign produces quite an old TMX that depending on the content can be buggy. So when you use WinAlign try saving the TM as a TXT format instead. Then in Studio you can use the "Upgrade TM" route to select your SDLTM and the TXT and merge them into one. So it's not same as the import process but does work quite well.
Alternatively, you can just upgrade the TXT and then export this as a TMX that will be suitable for import into any Studio TM.
