Adaptive MT in Trados 2017

Question

Hello, 
 About the Adaptive MT feature in Trados 2017, I have read there is a basic MT starting motor which we all have and which pre-fills all our segments. This motor is then enhanced by our own translations. 
 My 2 questions are: 
 1. Where does this basic MT motor come from? SDL Language Cloud MT? Other MT companies? 
 2. I heard in an SDL Roadshow that we have a free max amount of MT words per month. Does this mean we can only use these initial Adaptive MT suggestions for segments for a limited amount of words per month? (free I mean).

 It comes from SDL Language Cloud of course. These would be the baselines you have had access to in the previous versions.

 If you have purchased a new license or an upgrade to Studio 2017 you will get one free AdaptiveMT engine and a free volume of 400,000 machine translation characters per month. If you would like to purchase additional AdaptiveMT engines or more volume, contact your local sales representative or upgrade your SDL Language Cloud subscription.
