problems starting out with subtitling app

Hi Paul

Firstly, thanks for great webinar/subtitling plugin demo. Looks like a really useful tool.

Following the Wiki instructions, clicking the 'Additional installed File Types exist' isn't possible as it doesn't show despite them being installed.

Also, if I open a new file to translate and click on Subtitling preview the box is blank instead of being able to upload a video link...

Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help

  • Thanks for the call yesterday

Just confirming that the problem is solved:

    • all the new subtitle filetypes are seperate plugins that need to be downloaded and installed from the appstore.  We didn't include them in the supbtitling plugin because we will continue to see support for more filetypes.  So it makes more sense to separate them from the core plugin or we will need to keep updating it whenever we add a new one, and it will also be harder for 3rd party developers to create their own, or adpat the ones we created, and see them published.
    • the subtitling preview window won't allow a video to be selected unless the filetype is a supported subtitle file format.  Currently this is SRT out of the box and STL, SBV, webVTT with the new plugins.

  • Hi Paul,

Regarding the last point, very silly question, how does the subtitling plugin when I click on it in View that the video I am going to browse in the plugin screen that it is about to open it is not supported ?

I just tried for first time the subtitling plugin, opened a Word file with the subtitles, clicked on the subtitling plugin and I get a blank screen, so I cannot browse for any file.

    Many thanks to clarify.
