Trados Studio offers the ability to create different types of projects.
These may contain a single file for translation, or multiple files as part of a project, into either a single (or several) target language(s).
The options available are -
1) Translate as single document : Simply 'drag and drop' a single file for translation (or navigate to the folder where you have saved the file).
This option will automatically use the basis Resource and settings template you create to begin with.
2) New Local Project : Choose this option if you have multiple files and/or wish to use the advanced project creation functionality.
Selecting this option, brings up the 'Project Wizard' opening the advanced options for project creation.
Note: 'Translation resources', 'Termbases' and 'Language pair' is already enabled, as these were set, when creating the original Resource and Settings template.
You can also do this via the Project window- New Project
3) New Cloud Project : Choose this option when you wish to create a project in the cloud.
To use this option, you need to have created your cloud resources before you begin.
TIPS
Remember:
If you create a 'Translate single document' or 'New Local project', you can only translate these in Trados Studio and cannot (yet) upload these to the cloud.
If you would like the ability to translate in the cloud (Trados Live) and in Trados Studio- select New Cloud Project.
