Trados subscription renewed but activation code not received. Also no reply to previous message sent via the RWS contact from. Please assist?

I renewed my subscription yesterday and I did not receive an activation code.  I paid online by credit card and received and RWS invoice.

Today still no activation code.

I sent a message via RWS contact form this morning and I have not received any reply.

I now have 4 projects waiting, angry clients and I am having to turn down work. Can someone please look into this for me urgently?

You're confusing me a fair bit now.  You should have been using 2024 for some time and I find it hard to imagine you didn't receive any details of this given how long it's been around.

I also don't know why you are finding your way to that website when all you need to be doing to activate Studio is to log in here when Trados Studio starts up:

Trados Studio 2024 Product Activation window showing the Subscription tab selected. A 'Sign in' button is visible with instructions to log in to activate a subscription.

    1. switch to the subscription tab
    2. click on sign in

Then you'll get a window similar to this:

Trados Studio 2024 Product Activation window under the Subscription tab. It shows 'Paul's Team' account with an 'Activate' button to enable the Trados Team subscription.

    1. The name of your account... I have many so the name just represents the name I chose for this particular test account I use.
    2. This test account is Trados team, but yours will probably say Trados Studio 2024 Freelance or something like that.
    3. click on activate

Trados Studio 2024 Product Activation window under the Subscription tab. It displays an active subscription labeled 'Subscription Professional' registered to 'Paul's Team' with a 'Deactivate' button.

Now you get a screen showing the tupe of subscription you have and the account it belongs to.

Simple as that.  Can you confirm this is what you did?  And if you did, can you explain how you ended up with the screenshots you showed... or rather at which point did this happen?

  • Sorry for your confusion.

    I am more confused.

I was using Trados 2022 until yesterday when Trados 2022 suddenly refused to open and informed me my subscription had expired

I renewed my subscription (expecting that renewed subscription still to be to Trados 2022) - but Trados wouldn't open, no license activation code and no opening Trados for the subscription button.

You suggested I try Trados 2024. So I did.

But I don't get to that screen when I open Trados 2024 - I just get here:

Cloud Subscription error message stating 'You are not currently subscribed to a machine translation package. To select a package, visit your account.' with an OK button.

Now going back to Trados 2022 click on the subscription button I get here:

Trados Studio 2022 SR2 Product Activation screen showing 'Perpetual License' and 'Subscription' tabs, with account details and options to sign out or choose an account.

When I click on OK - I get here:

Information dialog stating 'The product license has been deactivated and Trados Studio will now exit. To start Trados Studio again, you must activate the product.' with an OK button.

I am making zero progress with this.

I do appreciate your assistance but in the time I've been going around with this: 2 of the 4 jobs I had pending which I need Trados for have been cancelled and I have 2 more angry clients who have extended my deadlines (but they are annoyed) and I'm still having to turn down other work.

This is beyond urgent for me now.

Surely, renewing a subscription should be easier than this?
