Value cannot be null when downloading from online editor to studio

Dear Community,

I created a cloud project from studio, which went fine. I completed the first translation and downloaded the translation from the online editor without issue. However, when I try to open the files in Studio (2024), I keep getting a message that 'Value cannot be null'. I notice that, despite having clicked on the 'download' button in Studio, the size of the files remains '0'. Please see below.

Screenshot showing a list of files with their translation progress. EE02.03.docx.sdlxliff is 100% translated, while others show 11%, 26%, and 8% progress. File sizes are 0 KB.

When I click the download button I get a message that I will be notified when the download is complete, but it never is. I also sometimes get a 'failed to load files view' message, as well.

I have tried turning the pc off-on, as well as updating Studio, but nothing seems to work.

Any tips would be appreciated.

  • Hi Steven,

it's not very clear to me what steps you took exactly and in which of the Trados - desktop or online editor.

Normally, the projects created in Trados and sent to cloud synchronize and viceversa. You have the button Open in Studio for the ongoing projects or files from the Cloud editor, which opens these in the desktop version.

I am not sure why you are trying to download the files in what I think it's the Files view. In Trados desktop - Projects view, you select the completed cloud project and right click on it and you get the option Download all files. Otherwise, with a project in progress, the files synchronize with the ones in the cloud when you open the cloud project in Trados desktop.

Perhaps try to explain step by step how you tried to open this cloud project in the desktop version, and please confirm the project in the cloud was not removed after you completed the translation.

    Kind regards,

    Anca
