Hello, I have purchased Studio 2022 and would like to add a Google MT API. Where can I do that? In Studio 2019, that option was available when I chose a TM for a project:

This was removed from the product in 2021. The solution would be to use one of the apps that provide MT via the Google API. However, as you may have noted from the messages at the top of the page we are still experiencing difficulties with our servers for the AppStore so yo cannot use this for the time being.
You could use Language Weaver as part of the Cloud Resources available to you. Possibly not as good for your language pair with the generic engines, but perhaps useful for the time being?

It's been a few months since I asked about MT. Studio has been updated since then and I would be happy to know if the option of using my Google API via an app is available. I would also like to know how I can use the Language Weaver app after installing it.

Thanks, I found that thread already and tried the linke for 2022, but the plug-in I got did not offer a connection with Google.
Perhaps you just don't know how to use it?

I’ll try to explain better. The plug-in I got when I clicked on the link you suggested is called Sdl.COmmunity. MtEnhancedProvider, according to my Downloads folder. I tried to install it, and when I then opened the Use Window in Project Settings it has the addition Machine Translation (Enterprise). When I click on that, I don’t get the window you show here, but rather a window offering met to Choose Existing Account Type, between Machine Translation Cloud BeGlobal or Machine Translation On-Premise Enterprise Translation Server.
No choice of Google, unfortunately.

That's an out of the box feature in Trados Studio 2021. Nothing to do with the plugin. If you have correctly installed the plugin you should see this:

OK, thanks for trying to help. It seems the plugin doesn’t want to install. Sorry to sound so helpless, but do I have to do anything but click on it?
If you close Studio, and if you have the right version of the plugin for your version of Studio, then just double click the plugin and you should see this.. for example:
The versions of Studio you have installed will show up, and only the one that matches the plugin you double clicked will be selected. Click next and then finish and you're done. Restart Studio and you should see it available in your list.

I do have Studio 2022. I did download the app from the link you set in for Studio 2022, and double clicked on it with Studio closed. However, nothing happened. Could it be because I don't have admin rights for this computer?

Are you able to copy the sdlplugin directly to this location?
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages\
If you can then just restart Studio and you'll also be sorted. If you can't then this is indeed what your problem is.

That was interesting. I did copy the plugin to the location you specified. However, now Studio refuses to launch, the screen flashes but it stays closed.
It sounds to me as though this is probably because you have another window open in the background, possibly with an unsigned plugin warning which could be due to whatever you have been trying so far. Please check if there is a window first... use an Alt+Tab keybard combination to scroll through the open windows and see if this is what's happening.
If this is the case please remove all files/folders from these locations, after closing Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins
c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins
Once you have done this copy the sdlplugin into this folder and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages

There were no other windows open. Nothing at all. I'm going to forward this conversation to the IT lad who installed the program on this computer and see what he makes of it.

No luck. Now Studio does not even open, even after I deleted the plugin from the folder. I suppose I will have to uninstall and reinstall it?
