Multiterm 2017 no longer working after major crash of Studio

Hello all,

I have Studio and Multiterm 2017 latest updates and everything worked like a train.

But 2 days ago Studio crashed out of the blue, and since then:

-Multiterm in the Editor does not show terms or not all the terms

-No more autosuggest, so typing is now twice as slow for me

-At first after opening the Editor I can add terms, but after half an hour get the error message: Multiterm is unable to add the term

I have Windows 10.0 makersupdate. I noticed that the Java Control Panel has no tab 'Updates'.

I was wondering is this a Java problem or should I maybe reinstall MultiTerm?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi ,

Have you by any chance got your display set to Tablet mode? If so, turning that off will make a difference. My UI is totally accessible, I don't use Tablet mode even on my Tablet PC.

You can check the above by clicking the Notifications icon bottom right of your screen. If Tablet mode is highlighted, its tile will be green. Click on it to turn it off.

It is also adjustable via 'All Settings' (also accessible via the Notifications icon) and you can choose how and when (if ever) you want your PC to switch to/from Tablet mode, here:

Windows Settings screen showing Tablet mode options with 'Hide app icons on the taskbar in tablet mode' and 'Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode' toggled on.

If that's not it, then it must be another setting affecting your UI because you should be able to choose whatever way you wish your UI to be displayed... Plus if you're having problems with the Windows updater, via All Settings > Update... > Troubleshooter you can run through the various possibilities of why your updates aren't working correctly. There's also a Help link there too.

Sounds as if you maybe need help from Windows support as well as SDL installation support (which I suggested in your other post)...

    All the best!

    Ali :)
