Not possible to open any file-based Multiterm termbase anymore

I can't open any file-based termbase anymore. I get the following error message "Multiterm is unable to retrieve the multimedia object". I use Trados Studio 2022 Freelance and Multiterm 2022 SR2. I've tried and re-installed both of them but it did not work. My pc runs Windows 10. Please help me!!

"Question improvement suggestion": The user has provided a good amount of information, but it would be helpful to know if there were any recent changes to the system or software before the issue occurred. Also, it would be beneficial to know if the user has tried opening the termbase on a different computer or with a different version of Trados Studio and MultiTerm.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with MultiTerm. Based on the information you've provided, it seems like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling Trados Studio and MultiTerm. Here are a few more steps you can try:

Step 1: Ensure your Windows 10 is up to date. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then click on 'Check for updates'.

Step 2: Try repairing your Trados Studio and MultiTerm installations via the Control Panel. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, then select Trados Studio and MultiTerm, and click on 'Repair'.

Step 3: Change the folder name or file path of the termbase to a simple one without special characters. This can sometimes resolve issues related to invalid file name errors.

Step 4: If the problem persists, you may want to consider using Trados FreshStart to reset your Trados Studio settings to default. Please remember to back up your settings and files first as this tool will delete personal settings.

If none of these steps resolve your issue, it might be a more complex problem that requires further investigation.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
