"Error while trying to Save as Target: Helvetica is an unexpected token. Expecting white space. Line xxx, position xxx."

I looked at similar previous questions, but not with Helvetica.

I tried to find that kind of font in an all-Arial Excel doc - but couldn't find a single letter...

So I'm at a loss as to what causes this problem.

Attaching the source Excel file for your capable eyes.

Thanks. Doron

STUDIO 02. Website Setup - Translation Matrix.xlsx

  • Hi Doron,

What version of Studio are you using?  I just tested this in 2017 and it opened and saved target without any problems.

    t_STUDIO 02. Website Setup - Translation Matrix.xlsx

Also good to attach the xml error stack here too... it'll render nicely in the post so we can read it if you just attach the xml (don't zip it)

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Thanks, Paul (and nice to meet up again), but the file you sent only has lots of $$$$ (not useful financially, i'm afraid).
I'm using Studio 2017 with the latest CU.

    Here's the error report:

  • Hi Doron,

And I thought all those dollars might be worth something ;-)  Point was I don't have an issue with the file and I pseudotranslated it as a test.

I see you are using the up to date version of 2017 so please try the following.  Create a new  project with your source file but make sure you use the new Excel filetype:

So uncheck the Excel 2007 v 2.0.0.0 and check SpreadsheetML v.1

This is the one I have used so please see whether this is working for you too?

    Regards

    Paul

  • Many thanks, Paul, this seems to be working at last!
Saved me a lot of hard work...
  • Phew... this is the first release of the new Excel filetype built in a similar way to the new Word one we release last year. Has a lot of other new features in it we haven't spoken about a lot yet,.. in fact we haven't mentioned them at all!! Good to see it helped solve this one!
