Trados 2017 says there are segments pending to confirm, but that is not true. What is happening?

Hello,

I have created a project to translate three word files, I have finished the translation of the first file from the project, but Trados shows the progress as the 99.84% and not the 100%. According to this, we should have some segments pending to confirm, but that is not true. I have pressed Ctrl + Enter to go to the next unconfirmed segment, and Trados do not move because everything is confirmed. Despite this, Trados says the progress is the 99.84% and that the project was not finished in a 100%

I have revised segment by segment, and everything is confirmed, so I don't know why is this happening, and how do I explain this to the project manager next week?

Please, could you help me to solve this?

    Hi ,

    This is a fairly well known refresh issue in Studio. I doubt your client will see this as it'll probably show 100% when they get the files. But you can probably sort it out yourself by running a batch task... like wordcount for example.

    Hi Paul,
    I tried what you said, but running a batch task like the word count don't solve the problem, I continue having the progress showing less than 100% and I am sure I did the 100% of the translation
    What should I do now? How may I fix this?

    Is the project status "In Translation"? Isn't it "In Review" or something else?
    Check is some segments are not locked in unconfirmed or other status... this is best done using the filter on Review tab.

    Hello, I did already that and the project status do not show the 100 %, even if everything was translated, there are no unconfirmed segments, I have jumped to everyone by pressing Ctrl + Enter. There no messages in the review tab telling me I have to confirm segments, and the projects do not show the 100 %. The first project is in the 99 % the second project 92 %, it is clearly an error of the program and the problem is I have to send this to the project manager this monday. If the project manager see a 100 %, then fine, but I do not know that, I would like to have this solved here to be sure everything is fine.
    Any idea about how may I solve this?

    Hi ,

    If you have confirmed all the segments, and if running a batch task doesn't resolve it then there is nothing you can do. This is a refresh bug in the software as I have said. Even if the Project Manager does see what you do a simple check will verify whether you have handled them or not. Run the WIP batch task report and this should provide an accurate status of the project. You can send that with the project when you send the files back.

    But I will be very surprised if that status sticks when you send the files over. Can you share them with me and I'll test this? It'll actually be useful if I can verify it. If that's ok you can send the project to pfilkin@sdl.com

    I did not ask for percentage, but for the actual status of the project file(s).

    I'm not quite sure how good you are familiar with the details of how Studio works...

    For example this file is completely translated, but shows 92% because Studio considers it being in 92% of review process... simply because 92% of its segments was PerfectMatched (i.e. marked as Signed-Off) before it went to translator... so even if translator confirmed all remaining segments, the percentage actually shows the progress of the "highest" phase, which is the Review phase.

    BTW, while we are at that, I have to mention another weirdness I have spotted recently - weird discrepancy caused by segments containing only locked content (i.e. the segments itself are not locked, but their entire content is locked).
    The following screenshot shows that a file is completely Signed-Off... so this would mean that everything is translated, done, finito... But hey, the confirmation statistics show that there are still 2 segments untranslated! How come?!

    Well, here they are - two untranslated segments (i.e. the "100% Signed-Off" status is apparently incorrect!), containing some stuff which is completely locked by the file type parser rules:

    Neither the Word Count, nor the Translation Count batch tasks change anything...

    Now, it looks like I will have to manually scroll through hundreds of files in each of the seven target languages and watch carefully the confirmation statistic foe each file to spot the incomplete ones :-(
    (If I would know for sure that all such untranslated segments are only such 'locked' ones, I would leave it as is, since untranslated segment means that the source text will get into the generated target file, which would be okay... but I cannot be sure, so I will have to do this annoying and time-consuming exercise...)
