Failed to add window command bar exception error message after reinstalling SDL-Trados

Question

Yesterday, I did an update on my software and now it's not working at all. I get an error message saying "Failed to add window command bar exceptions". I search for answers on the community, and found the following article: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/90/t/17427 . I tried all three steps, and it still does not work at all. 
 I went and deactivated my licence to reinstall the software. I downloaded the software from my SDL account. I reinstalled the software. In the course of the installation, I get the message saying there is an update on my version, to which I have no choice to accept or cancel the process. So, I accepted it. Guess what? It does not work either. I open SDL Trados and still get the same message "Failed to add window command bar exceptions. 
 Any suggestions?

Paul!!! I'm doomed. I did that and get an error message: Sdl.Community.StudioCleanupTool has stopped working. Could it be because I had desinstalled the software earlier today? In any case, I would like to know if someone can connect to my computer and fix the problem directly? Is this some kind of service you guys do? I just bought a Support contract this morning and I am wondering if this is something you can do - I mean connect to my computer and fix the problem.

Perhaps try a Studio reset? This app may be helpful for this purpose as it also has an undo if it didn't help:

 Incorrect. You can uninstall/install as many times as you like and this does not affect your licence state as long as it's on the same machine.

 I would upgrade. But stop trying the offline deactivation and if you have a problem on one of your computers try the sefl-service reset. You can reset your own license by using the Self Service option in your MySDL account for SDL Trados 2015 and SDL Trados Studio 2017. 
 Use this KB article ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge ) and follow the instructions.

It could be that some of the folders you selected are not there if you deinstalled before. This may be a bug in the tool that we need to fix. 
 
Try it manually. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
So the path would become this: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old 
 
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders: 
 
 www.howtogeek.com/.../ 
 
If that doesn't help you then do log a case through the support portal and a support engineer can look at this for you tomorrow. In case you don't know how to do that this article explains:

It's a shame you didn't do this immediately you had the problem as this is what you have a support contract for. You can still use the community of course, but don't let that prevent you making sure you have a guaranteed level of support through your account.
