Studio SR2 update 15.2.4.1693

Question

I am using Studio SR2 version 15.2.0.1041. Studio "Notifications" is telling me upgrade version SR2 15.2.4.1693 is available and it even looked as if Studio was downloading it. But where to? 
 And I cannot find it in my SDL Account under Downloads and can't seem to find it on my PC. 
 Anyone any ideas, please?

 Yes, you can download it manually. Take a look here: 
 Cumulative Updates for SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 
 You'll find at the bottom of the article instructions on how to download and install the patch manually, with an active FTP link, user name and password. 
 I hope this achieves what you are looking for. 
 BTW you don't necessarily have to buy a new PC, it should be possible to replace Windows 7 with Windows 10 on your existing one unless it's very low spec... That's what I did* and it worked like a dream.

 If this is what you see: 
 
 Click on the orange bell tab then on the green Install button: 
 
 Don't worry about the version numbers, mine are different because I have a beta version installed. 
 If you don't see the above, click on the Help tab then on 'Check for Updates' 
 If there are no updates visible then you have probably already successfully installed the update. 
 I hope it's this simple for you...

 The zip file that the shortcut I gave you downloads is named SDLTradosStudio2019_SR2_CU4_1693.zip 
 That is indeed " upgrade version SR2 15.2.4.1693" as you requested in your original post. Compare the numbers. 
 A cumulative update is usually a big file, it's not just a simple update. 
 My PC was at least 5 years old, but it was years ago so I don't recall precisely. Actually, it was so long ago that it was XP-based. I went to my local friendly IT company and asked for advice on buying a new PC and they suggested that I upgrade the one I already had to Windows 8 which I then upgraded to Windows 10 when it came out. I seem to recall them saying Windows 10 was more economical with space at the time. They sold me a much cheaper laptop to work on while they upgraded my PC for me and saved me lots of money. It had Win8 installed, which I also updated to Win10 when that came out. 
 The IT company transferred everything to my new computer for me, it was easy. 
 Earlier this year, I reinstalled Windows 10 on my laptop as it was getting slow. I asked someone with more IT knowledge than I how to do it, they told me and I found it easier than I'd expected. You can find instructions online, too. I wouldn't be afraid to do it again. It's working much better since I reinstalled. 
 I now have a backup system for my recently-purchased new main PC (I fried my old one otherwise it would still be going strong) that backs it up to a secondary hard drive, my stepson set this up as it was beyond me. It wasn't expensive to achieve. 
 I use the 365 subscription version of Office which is kept up to date with the new version and can have it on up to 5 machines for &pound;79 a year. It comes with 1TB of storage too. I pay yearly because that way I get 2 free months. It works well.

 Secondly, the second image I posted in my first post was indeed of the notification panel as you describe. It was a snapshot of the top right corner of my Studio interface. Here's the full screen:

Hello Simon Cole , 
 Further to Jerzy's reply - 
 temp files are just that - temporary files and should be removed on a regular basis. 
 You can easily do this manually (no need for a special tool). 
 Also as Jerzy mentioned- ALL programs including Studio....! must be properly closed before deleting the temp files as programs may still be using the temp file. 
 Note- If you use a program such as CCleaner- 
 then make sure if the machine is left unused for any length of time, you must always save and close Studio, as CCleaner will delete the temporary files (depending on the settings) which can corrupt the project.
