Hi,
I work a lot (actually always) with project templates. Each time I change
of template I get a message on which I have to click and the same when I name the project.
I find this annoying. Is there a way to disable this behaviour?

Perhaps it's rather a sign saying that the way you work with the templates is not as it was intended?
The purpose of templates is actually that they should NOT be changed, at least not that often that such message would get annoying...
Why do you change the templates so often that this message is a problem?
I have made templates for clients, for domains (e.g; technical, art, human resources etc.) and per languages. So I can have a template "Technical UK-FR" and another one "Technical NL-FR". This is very practical because the termbase and TM are automatically loaded. So each time I start a project I have to see which template should be used.
I am therefore a bit 'surprised' by your answer and I would not understand why having templates if we can not adapt them to our needs.

I do use templates the same way you do. Might be, that you first add files and the project name and THEN first select the template? If so, you should select the template in the very first step of project creation. You will then see one message about the change, but it should not appear anymore.

I didn't say anything about not using templates... I was talking about the WAY OF USING the templates, so that you get the message so often that it gets annoying.

I am happy to hear from someone who also uses many templates! The selection of the template is the FIRST step that I take. The only way to avoid the message is to use the steps approach (like in 2017) but then why do we have a one page project creation.
I never had this issue with 2017 but in 2019 I get irritated each time. It is not a major issue but just this repetitive small thing that gives me the needle.

If you still want to dismiss the window without having to click Yes, I would suggest using an AutoHotkey script. I do this for all nagging windows I want to close automatically. For this particular window, it would look something like this:
#IfWinActive ahk_exe SDLTradosStudio.exe
#Persistent
SetTimer, Template, 1000
return
Template: ;Says "Yes" to the window that asks if you want to overwrite all settings
IfWinExist, Question, This change will overwrite all of the settings you have defined
Send y

If you're new to AutoHotkey, do this:
1. Download AutoHotkey from https://www.autohotkey.com › download. Install it.
2. In a folder where you would like to save your script, right-click on any empty space and select New - AutoHotkey script. Name the file.
3. Open the file you just created in a plain text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++, copy the above script and paste it into the file. Save and close the file.
4. Go to the folder where your new AutoHotkey script is saved and double-click on the file. This will load the script (make it active), you will see a little green square with a white H on it in your system tray.
After doing this, the window will be dismissed quickly as soon as it appears. The script basically monitors your computer to watch out for the window, and as soon as it appears, it sends a "y" keystroke, which closes the window.
Note that if you restart your computer, you will need to reload the script, unless you set it up to be loaded when Windows starts.

Having this message once is typical, as when you change from current to another template, changes are applied and the message is OK. However, it should NOT appear the second time. It will also not appear, if you create the project based on the same template as previous project.
Some thoughts about it:
- Do you change languages in the project after selecting the template?
- Is the template you're using set as the default one?
Otherwise I see no reason for the second message...

I get this warning only once per project (when I change the template), but I find even that is incredibly annoying. (YES, I know it’s going to change the settings if I change the template, that’s the point of templates!)
This prompt didn’t appear in Studio 2017 unless settings in further steps had already been changed and the user had gone back to change the template, so I’m not sure why it systematically appears in Studio 2019 even if changing the template is the first thing one does.
There’s an idea in the Ideas forum to either remove this warning or include a "don’t show this message again" checkbox.
