I havent seen this type of behaviour before- but are pretty certain that this has nothing to do with pixels/4K as this normally results in compression and unreadable text.

It is probably useless to try repairing Studio, it is not corrupted: I have had the same problem for years and I just live with it; the problem is annoying, but minor indeed. That's why you hear of it for the first time: because René is the first one irritated enough to report it.

This is actually a brand-new installation on a new laptop I just bought a few days ago. I haven't even activated my licence yet as it's still only 1 day into the installation's 30-day trial period. And it seems I'm not the only one who's been experiencing this problem.

Also, just in case it wasn't clear, the location where the problem occurs is different from the one shown in your example screenshot. It occurs in the Project Settings window. All is well in the Projects overview.

This may be caused by your display resolution, 3840x2160

My display resolution is 1920x1080 and here's how my project settings look by default. Like you, I can widen the left hand pane but it resets each time but the contents are already more visible with the default setting:

As a test, try changing your Windows display resolution here:

It will be interesting to see if a different resolution produces different results...

Good idea to test that! It did become a more normal width after changing the resolution to 1920x1080, but that also changed the scaling from 250% to 125% automatically, and the scaling seems to be the thing Trados is really struggling with:

Here is 1080p with 100% scaling:

1080p with 125% scaling:

1080p with 175% scaling:

Scaling is completely essential on modern high-DPI screens like my 4K laptop's (which even has a secondary half-height 4K screen built in above the keyboard :') ), so obviously turning it off is not a solution.

But hopefully this report will help the developers sort out the programming so it properly supports Windows 10's display scaling :)
