PO file handling problem

Hi All, I have received .po file & tried to process in Studio 2019. But 3-4 strings of "msgid" & "msgstr" combines into 1. msgid "" "

This page provides the ability to add common languages to your " "site.

If the desired language is not available, you can add a " "custom language.

Choose a language from the list, or choose \"Custom language...\" " "at the end of the list.

 I think it's about time you go back to your client and explain that their file has not been constructed correctly. Aside from the problems caused by not leaving a blank line between entries (debatable whether this is a requirement or not but it certainly makes the file more readable), the reason you don't see all the plural forms is because the file is not constructed correctly. 
 The header is there, so this isn't the problem (in my opinion). But you have things like this: 
 msgid "@count contextual link" msgid_plural "@count contextual links" msgstr[0] "" 
 I believe it should probably be this to ensure you get the plural: 
 msgid "@count contextual link" msgid_plural "@count contextual links" msgstr[0] "" msgstr[1] "" 
 If you make these corrections in your sample file then they are all extracted.

 Ah, okay, the file on the Google Drive does have the header, but I was talking about the "ad.po" file attached to the message here: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/studio/28849/po-file-handling-problem/93180#93180 
 These files are different... so god knows how they were created...

 I think you need a blank line between entries if you use the default PO filetype. I think it's normal to have a blank line, but I also don't believe it's mandatory... need to check that before logging a bug. 
 So I'd recommend you use the PO filetype on the appstore as that will handle this file without any problems at all...blank lines or not.

 In the meantime I opened the file you have provided with the appstore filetype and it works fine for me: 
 
 My guess is you are not preparing your project correctly, or you simply didn't prepare it again using the correct filetype.

 So it correctly extracts the plural forms for translation. 
 I can't tell anything from your screenshot and notes for several reasons: 
 
 I don't have the full source file 
 I can't see how the header has been constructed 
 I don't know which filetype you are using 
 
 Too many unknowns to help you here I'm afraid. So hopefully seeing how it should work will encourage you to investigate what may be wrong with your source file.
