There is a number of reasons why Studio might be crashing- so I will go through some issues/solutions you might like to work through and see if this helps.

First of all, please make sure Windows/Drivers (including graphics card) are all up to date-

Also please ensure that both Studio and MultiTerm are added to your Antivirus 'Exceptions/whitelist'

Next, please update Studio to the latest stand (ensure you start Studio as Admin) then login and Check for Updates (you should be notified of any updates in the Notifications tab

Now see if the issues still occur.

If so please disable Lookahead

Another option might be to temporarily disable Match Repair

If the issues still persist- please provide the system specifications (OS/RAM etc.) and where you are saving your resources- either locally or on a remote drive/cloud.

Also the Windows logfiles should shed light on the issue.

Thank you very much for your reply. I tried everything you suggested. Today, Studio hasn't crashed, thankfully, but lookup is still very slow. Any further ideas would be much appreciated :)

After my previous reply, SDL Studio has gone back to its usual ways - crashing numerous times at random. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

I am honestly appalled with the ostensible lack of support from SDL. It's been almost two weeks since I posted this issue and I have received no further replies. It is a disgrace that SDL is delegating their support functions to the community, rather than taking responsibility for their product.

I've worked with a vast array of software applications in my life, from translation and localization through image editing to electronic music production, and SDL Studio 2019 is *by far* the worst performer. It has crashed three times today already and I am not halfway through my work day.

If anyone knows any way to get support directly from SDL, please help by sharing it here. I am awfully disappointed with SDL's evident complete lack of interest in the satisfaction of their users.

SDL have a full technical support capability if you have paid for a support contract.  I assume you have not or you wouldn't be resorting to the free forums for help where there isn't a guarantee of any help at all, although we do our best as do many of users in here who chip in to offer their experience.

Having said this, our technical teams do offer a route for assistance if you have licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working satisfactorily.  Before you do this however there are some obvious things to check:

1. make sure you have upgraded your TMs
2. make sure you have reindexed them

Both of these things might have an impact on the performance you are experiencing.  But if this doesn't help then log a case on the basis that you are unable to work with your TMs in 2019, whereas you were in 2017.
