SDL Studio 2019: "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" after trying to confirm a segment

Hi all,

Since a few days, I receive the error message "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" each time I try to confirm a segment.

I reset Studio, desinstalled/reinstalled it, but nothing changed.

SDL team also suggested me to "Reset window layout", but it changed nothing.

It does not help me from translating/proofreading nor delivering a project, but I cannot commit any segment to the TM any more, so the fuzzies and reps do not propagate and it's pretty damaging for big projects.

I changed nothing to my computer, did not install a software or anything before this problem appears.

Any idea of where the error could come from?

Thank you,

Chloé

  • Hi

I'm so glad your problem is solved!

I think Studio or its predecessor was set by default to automatically update but now the choice is the users:

Trados Studio options window with Automatic updates section highlighted, showing 'Automatic check' selected for updates.

Select the option I have highlighted if you'd like Studio to be kept automatically updated - also make sure to open MultiTerm and check if there are updates via the Help tab. Nowadays it is important that the two pieces of software remain up to date together.

I have it set to Automatic Check so I can decide when I want to make the download (I sometimes use my phone as a hotspot when working on long journeys so want to wait till I have access to WiFi again). When an update is available, I see the 'Notifications' icon changes from grey to red. Click on the bell and you will read a message indicating the availability of the update...

Trados Studio top menu bar with a red 'Notifications' icon indicating an available update.

Have fun using Studio and MultiTerm!

    Thanks for letting us know,

    Have a lovely weekend!
