Hi Paul

Hope all's well.

I have had the same error message come up. Very disappointing as I already had problems getting Multiterm to work with 2021 and after 2 months of toing and froing with SDL Support and even the Development team, I had to abandon using it and continue with 2019. Was hoping SR1 might be a solution but no.

Would appreciate some help.

In fact support have just provided a solution to this problem.  Please try the following:

1. Go to C:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit and rename the System folder.  So for example, change this:
   c:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit\System
   to this:
   c:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit\System_old
   
   
2. Open a command line as administrator.  To do this type CMD into the run field in Windows and select "Run as administrator" like this:
   
   
   
3. Type the following commands into the command line
         cd C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2021SR1
   Press the enter key
         lsinit.exe  –debug
   Press the enter key
   Should look like this before the final press of the enter key
   
   
   
4. Allow the process to continue when prompted and you'll see something like this:
   
   Press the enter key again, and close the command prompt
   
   
5. Finally run the Studio installer again.

Hopefully that will resolve the issue you have reported in this thread.

Just tried Multiterm again with SDL Studio 2021 SR1 and it still doesn't work. Bogdan told me before the only solution was to reinstall Windows so for now, I'll continue with 2019 as I don't want to have to do that.

Was that the new SR1 Multiterm installer?

Unfortunately, yes. When I try to add a local termbase to a project in Studio, it hangs for several minutes and then I get the message: "General error occured. Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown".

Equally, if I try to open a termbase directly in Multiterm, I get the "Loading Termbase List" message, which again hangs for several minutes and then throws the error "A connection to SDL Multiterm Server unknown could not be established".
