Multi language Json files

Hi, I have a json file for the first time and I thought I have understood the system, but now I have several languages in the file. My translation goes from EN to FR. How do I tell Trados to choose the "en" text as source and add it as "fr" after translation?

From my understanding it will be necessary to duplicate the en text and add fr instead of en to the copy. This is possible using regex. And then you'll need to advise Studio to make ony fr available for translation.

This would be my second problem/question... after solvint the first one, to duplicate the entries... but: it's a long, long, list :-(

If the structure is as shown, this should work in a Regex delimited file type

Opening pattern ^[^"]*fr": "

Closing pattern ",$

For duplicating en

Search for \r\n([^"]*)"en": "(.+?)",

Replace \r\n\1"en": "\2",\r\n\1"fr": "\2", (using Regex in Notepad++)

That sounds crazy.... thnx... I with Notepad, but I get an error... can you please have a look?

Question: does the file have to have always the same languages, as some entries do not have NL for example.

You need to show line breaks in N++:

I think the languages in the file do not really matter.

However, I cannot be certain, if my method work. To make sure I would have to test with a real file. As at the moment I am in hurry to deliver my job, I can try later.

Hi Burim Bektesi,

I've tested Jerzy's regexes and they work.

I think there is a problem with the version of your Notepad++ as I spotted some differences in the Search & Replace dialog box:

Check if it's 7.9.3, otherwise download and install the most recent version.

If I was you I would simply use the SuperText JSON filetype on the appstore. This supports bilingual JSON ad you can set the source and target language in the filetype options;
