Randomly overwriting text

Some weeks ago my Trados 2021 (the latest service pack installed) started to act weird. When I try to insert a text in a segment, the program spontaneously and at random (so not all the time) starts to overwrite the existing text. The crazy thing is that the status bar keeps indicating INS and not OVR. Pressing the insert key on the keyboard is the only solution. I have replaced my keyboard and repaired Trados, but to no avail. This problem ONLY happens in Trados, not in any other application.

Before I reinstall Trados, which I really don't want to do because aside from this problem I don't have any other problems (which is remarkable considering how buggy the program is), I would like to know if any of you have encountered this problem before, and how to fix it without having to reinstall the whole thing.

Thanks.

Could be related to keyboard shortcuts... these will be specific to Trados which is why you might have some clash here and not with another application.  I don't know what else you're running on your computer as the problem could be easier to solve in some other application, but based on you saying this:

When I try to insert a text in a segment

I'd start with shortcuts that have "Ins" in there perhaps?  You can easily copy/paste your keyboard shortcuts into a text editor from here:

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog with a list of commands and their corresponding shortcuts, highlighting the 'Auto-Insert Tags' and 'Copy Source to Target' commands.

Then change or delete the shortcuts for now and see if it helps?  I only have these using "Ins" for example:

    Auto-Insert Tags                           Ctrl+Alt+Ins

Copy All Source to Target            Alt+Shift+Ins

Copy Source to Target                 Ctrl+Ins, Alt+Ins

I think it may be something like this and is worth a try.
