Just to clarify that I'm able to appreciate the formatting (bold, italic and underline in segment 2), but not the highlighted text (segment 3) in Trados Studio 2019:

Sorry for butchering your surname. The user with surname Hatanaka is the only one coming out after typing @chinatsu… and then I didn't pay attention. It seems I can't edit my posts, sorry again.

Thank you very much for your clarification and so sorry that it was due to the faulty system. I did not know you have to use @ to address people, as I simply click "Reply" button to reply and just use "Hello" or "Dear"... Thank you also for letting me know about this IDEAS section!!! I will try that immediately. I also would like to know if there is a way to report this issue as a "bug".

In fact to see highlights on any type of source text seems to be a "must" function of a translation editor to me. What happened to me was, the client sent me a PPTX source file with a lot of highlighting to indicate where not to translate. It didn't show on my Trados Studio 2019 editor, so I translated the entire file and manually reversing it one by one!!!

As you mentioned in a previous thread, one should be able to send a notification by typing "@" followed by the person's user name.

Do you have any idea why this does not work for Chinatsu Ayres?

After reading the post by Jesús Prieto, I tried typing "@chinastuayres" to see what would happen and can confirm what Jesús said. (As you suggested, I hovered my mouse over Chinatsu Ayres' name to verify that "chinastuayres" was the correct user name.)

For some reason the notification mechanism is not working for Chinatsu Ayres.

One possible idea is that when you try to tag someone in the middle of a sentence there are occasions when it won't work, especially if you already tagged someone else.  I learned to tag them on a separate line and then delete backwards to put them into the place I wanted them.

No idea why it does this... but easy enough to workaround.
