Dan Lucas tracked down this useful URL:
https://www.trados.com/landing/get-ready-for-studio-2022.html
Nice work... although I'm pretty sure all users will have received an email on this by now. Just to help those who didn't see it the essence of the email was this:
NEW Studio 2022 pre-launch landing page – trados.com/studio2022
NEW infographic – What’s coming in Studio 2022
NEW eBook – Going places with Trados
NEW FAQs – Studio 2022 pre-launch
Plus the usual links to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
So, does anyone know "what's new in the upcoming Trados Freelance 2022
The infographic gives a very high level idea, but just to add my own thoughts after reading many of the carping comments in that ProZ thread:
There is more, and you'll no doubt learn more and more about the details as time goes by. But in my opinion there is already a lot here worth upgrading for.

1. I was alerted to the new version in a promotional mail from a reseller. "Learn how to get the new version of Trados free of charge". I haven't had any communication from Trados/SDL/RWS about this directly, and I don't really follow social media, so the fault for not knowing about this is mine. :-)
2. It is perhaps a limitation of my own knowledge that I don't know what "views" are. I know that MemoQ has "views", but I assumed that the word "views" was being used generically in the infographic. Your post seems to imply that "views" is a specific and existing feature of Trados...?
3. I did see the item about the cloud capabilities at no cost, yes, but unless there are multiple services in the Trados ecosystem that are cloud related that I'm not aware of, I am unable to figure out exactly what this new "free" feature is supposed to be. The FAQ page says that the relevant service has always been free, so it must be a different service than the one I was thinking of.
Oh, and don't you mind the carping. :-) Trados is a fine tool. And thank you for taking the time to respond to my query.
so the fault for not knowing about this is mine. :-)
I wouldn't go that far. We do our best to publicise this stuff in as many places as possible but I personally don't have a facebook or a linkedin account anymore so can't blame anyone for not seeing this! I wasn't aware of the communication you mention but I'll speak to or reseller manager to make sure the correct information is going out through those channels too.
So thank you for that feedback.

These are all referred to as "Views":
If you hover over them you'll see the name "Files View", Projects View" etc. Once you get your hands on 2022, or see more information over the coming weeks, you'll learn more about what changes have been made here.
I know that MemoQ has "views"
Indeed... a great feature too. We do have something similar available through an app, called... wait for it... studioViews! In light of this conversation I almost wish I'd called it something else, but in reality I was in fact linking it to the feature in memoQ which I always liked. This app is a great replacement for SDLXLIFF Split and Merge but it also supports splitting up files based on whatever you are filtering on in the Studio "Editor View" or even what you have selected in that view... and importing back in again later. So very similar to memoQ Views.
This app is also one of my favourite apps as I love the flexibility it brings to Studio.

I followed up on a few things this morning as I wondered why you didn't receive any emails. Looks like you specifically unsubscribed from receiving RWS marketing emails. Always a double edged sword... but good to know we honoured your request ;-)
