Can you use the Preview, or the document structure column to help you?  Bulleted and numbered lists in word are treated as non-translatable items because they are automatically created in Word and they get moved out of the way so you can concentrate on the text.

Many thanks for your swift reply!

The problem is that there are many references to other bullet points in all the sentences (such as "As mentioned in point 1b"), so I often have to quickly navigate to whatever bullet point that is mentioned in order to see what it says. Otherwise I cannot translate the segment I am currently in, because I am missing the context.

The document structure column only says "An item on a list", so it doesn't clarify exactly which bullet point it is.

I need a structure where I can quickly see exactly where the segment belongs to. Some of it is very technical, so if I do not quickly see what the referenced bullet point consists of, I cannot translate the segment I am in, because it becomes impossible to understand without knowing what it refers to.

I am afraid that too much manual checking will make the process too slow...

Understood.  But including the bullets and numbering will probably never happen as this is a very important feature for most allowing them to focus in the translation and also not pollute their translation memories and reduce future leverage.  I don't know how many times I've explained to someone how to exclude the numbering when someone authors a document and didn't know how to do it properly!

So I think your best bet, is the preview, or to simply keep the source open and search it when needed.  I reckon with some ingenuity an AutoHotKey script could probably help with that task so you have a single shortcut to look up the segment in the source document quickly when needed.

It would be great if this could become an option with a checkbox some time. (Standard setting could be exclude numbering, and the marked checbox could indicate inclusion of bullet point numbers and letters).

Perhaps an app from RWS AppStore or a Plug-in/Add-in could do that?
