Difference in wordcount before and after translation

Hello! Someone just translated a file for me and I'm having trouble figuring out why there's a difference between the original wc and the post-translation wc. The same TM used for prep/pre-translation was used during translation and my translator didn't report or detect any issues with TM usage.

This is the original wc:

Screenshot of a Trados Studio analysis report showing word count categories such as Locked, PerfectMatch, Repetitions, Context Match, and different match percentages with a total word count of 5954.

This is the post-translation wc:

Screenshot of a Trados Studio analysis report with a different layout showing word count categories and totals, indicating a discrepancy in word counts in the 'No Match' category compared to the first screenshot.

Both wc were analyzed in my version of Studio (Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.9.9198). The file was translated in Trados Studio 2022 SR2 17.2.10.19084. Could this be due to version difference even if both wc were generated in my version of Studio?

Has this ever happened to someone else?

Thanks!

Did you use the same TM and the same project?  Or is your TM updated too?  It really looks to me as though either you have a completely different TM or you recreated the project with a different format of the same file.... or something.

The word counts are exactly the same (just to get the context right) but the analysis is different.  In fact the new post translation word count is worse than the original.  Something definitely not right there, and I don't think you're comparing apples with apples.  Don't forget the analysis is carried out on the source and not the target.  So unless your TM changed the analysis should be exactly the same since the source of the file you get back should be exactly the same too.
