I'm having trouble with Trados Studio 2021 => when I plug the source text in, some of it is illegible, a bunch of ?????????? all squashed together.

I've tried changing the font of the source text (Word), but that only cleared up some of the text in Trados.

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details such as the exact steps you took before the issue occurred, the specific version of Trados Studio 2021 you are using, and your operating system. Also, if there are any error messages, please include them in your question.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the display of your source text in Trados Studio 2021. This could be due to a variety of reasons, including font compatibility issues or encoding problems.

Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Check the encoding of your source text. If it's not in UTF-8, try converting it to UTF-8 and then import it into Trados Studio.

Step 2: Try changing the font in Trados Studio itself. Go to File > Options > Editor > Font Adaptation and select a different font.

Step 3: If the problem persists, you can try the workaround provided in the context. Go to File > Options > Editor and choose 'Show all tags but do not show formatting' for the Formatting display style. This will not affect the target document, it's only a display feature.

Remember to save your changes and restart Trados Studio for the changes to take effect.
