auto-propagation window not displaying pop up window

Hello

Right now have two translators that the popup window for them to accept or not auto-propagation is not displaying at all.

One translator was also having an issue with the Find and Replace window where it would be off-screen but when click on taskbar shows it open.  Was able to get it viewable.   However, the auto-prop window does not even do this.

Things have tried already:

Did verify that Auto-prop is Enabled.  Did try changing eh Prompt User setting form Conditionally to Always and back.

Do have the starting position set to First Segment

Did Reset Window Layout

Did check if job had a large number or few tags.

TM is properly setup

Currently utilizing Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.11.19134  With Windows 11 enterprise

Any suggestions on how to get this popup back

  • Have already tried Repairing Trados Studio and did not work.

    Hi David,

Ah, OK... you didn't mention that, or the fact someone tried upgrading, in your posts. It helps if you give us the maximum useful information from the start.

Maybe you mentioned these items in another post. If so, I'm sorry if we didn't resolve your issues...

There are various things that can impede the proper functionality of software, be it Trados or any other software, and a healthy PC environment can make an enormous difference. If you're an agency or a central position handling several translators' work, it is not always easy to help your translators achieve a healthy/conducive environment that matches yours in order to make the software work best - even if you work in the same offices, the construct of two PCs bought from the same supplier on the same day can be markedly different, I've seen it happen... It's not always down to just the piece of software that appears to be misbehaving.

You mentioned subtitling, which leads me to say that also, things like plug-ins need to be up to date with your current version of Trados Studio (which can be difficult to achieve but can be resolved by asking for help here) and, also, having the version of MultiTerm that matches your version of Studio is nowadays vital. If you wind back your version of Studio, you probably need to wind back the version of e.g. MultiTerm also these days.

Upgrading to the latest download of the version you're working with can indeed cause issues, especially if your version and those of your translators (or your setups) are different. However, it isn't impossible to handle if you ask on the Community for help right at the start of the progression, giving full details.

It's easy for me to say that as I'm a beta tester, I have always work in the latest version, beta or otherwise since the first version of Trados, and I know how to achieve smooth functionality under most conditions.

However, if you trust us on the Community to help you, in theory it is possible to iron out this hiccup and maybe take you and your translators to the latest version of Trados Studio and MultiTerm 2022 smoothly. The latest versions are designed to work in the latest PC environment along with the latest versions of plug-ins and also other non-Trados software and the most current operating systems too. Thence, hopefully, it will be a smoother upgrade when you do decide to move to Trados Studio and MultiTerm 2024.

, is there anything you could add here?

    All the best,

    Ali Smiley
