How to prevent segmentation after number followed by dot in German?

In German we have that quite often:

A number followed by a dot in the middle of a sentence. Like "Ich war in der 3. Reihe"
Studio will typically segment after such number. I need to prevent that without having to add all the ordinal followers...

    How about adding a regex exception to the full stop rule?

    Just go the segmentation rules and add an exception like this:

    BTW, the customer who came up with this (quite massive with his TMs) problem asks, why does Studio segment after such numbers?
    IMHO this is a valid question - and if you have to adapt hundreds of TMs just to prevent it happening, it does not really make fun...
    The opposite approach would be better IMO - an exception, if you WANT to segment after number(dot).

    Well I think it's a very common scenario where people number incorrectly, probably more common and also heavily used in the file. So they manually create numbered headings for example. In these scenarios I think it's probably considered better to handle these numbers separately and keep the TM clean for better leverage.

    Probably good arguments for both!

    If there would be a possibility to export and import these settings (like requested years ago), that could be the first step to make it easier to use. Or - maybe a better idea - let the user create segmentation rules withing language pairs, which would then apply to any TM used in that particular language pair. There is optimization potential in language resource setting for TMs, certainly.

    Indeed. In SDLX it was possible to import/export seg. rules from a TM.

    Yes, I agree with you completely here Jerzy. The language resource template is useful, but not helpful when you just want to change things in existing TMs. I think having the language resources as a mobile resource that could be applied to any TM would be the ideal scenario. One for development though as this would be a big change I think.
