SDL Studio 2009 with Windows 10, TM error message

I'm working SDL Studio 2009 and translating a quite long file, now I have an error message each time I want to save a sentence: It says"It seems that the TM is left or it's being deleted or there isn't any TM container" Does somebody know what to do?

Please help me!

Thank you.

  • Hi Noelia

Thanks for the screenshot. However, it does not show any error message, so I still don't know what your problem really is.

Your segments in the Editor seem to be confirmed.
The only unusual thing I can see in your screenshot is the window on top with the red crossed lines. I guess this could be a preview window, but I am not sure because by default this is not positioned there. The reasons for the preview not working can be various (your version of Word, the filetype used, ..)
However, this should not prevent you from translating and from what you wrote, you get an error message every time you want to confirm a segment. Please show us this error message, otherwise we can only guess and this makes it very difficult to help.

  • SDL error message.docxHi Walter,

I'm really thankful for your follow up but I've called to an expert in my country and, after explaining the several problems I have, he is convinced that the problem is that Windows 10 does not support Trados 2009 and it's been working until the error has arisen. As my translation is too long I'm now recovering it with the old Tag Editor.  This person states that my document and TM are not connected so I cannot save any of them, they are only virtually, if I close Trados they will desappear.

I can add the error messages I have until now

I don't think this is related to Windows 10 at all and Studio 2009 runs fine under Windows 10.

The error message you sent me now clearly indicates that Studio cannot find the TM you assigned to the project in the given path (folder) (they are "not connected" as you say).
The reason the TM is not connected anymore is that Studio cannot find the path where the TM is meant to be (was before), either because you have moved the TM file or because you had it in a standard Windows folder, which may have changed following the upgrade to Windows 10.
You should be able to solve the problem by removing the TM in your project settings and adding it again (from the correct folder where the TM file is located now), as I have explained in my previous post. Do you remember where you stored your TM? Was it in the "Documents" folder? This folder may have changed with Windows 10 or you may not have migrated the data..
If you don't know or find out where your TM is located, ask your Windows expert to search for it. It is a file with the extension .SDLTM. Once you found it, assign it again to the project settings, as I have explained and everything will run fine again.
