High resolution Display: command menus overlapping and ultra small user interface

I have just changed my PC with a new HP Envy Windows 10 I7 with high resolution (3200x 1800 dpi) screen.

Now, all command menus (e.g command toolbar, project list and even start window during startup) appears overlapping and "cropping" and all texts are not completely diplayed...

I've seen some suggestion on SDL Knowledge base (http://kb.sdl.com/#tab:homeTab:crumb:7:artId:4959) but all appears quite hard to implement (I only tried Workaround 1) for a "normal" PC user... Does anybody know a more simple solution?

Thanks

Giovanni

  • Hi Paul,

I have a follow-up question for you! I am also the lucky owner of a new laptop with a 4K screen; however I hook the laptop up to an external (old) monitor and then Studio shows up okay. For a while I used a program from Intel, called Intel Graphics, to change the settings when the laptop is not hooked up to the external monitor. That does however not work anymore, so I was thinking about now trying workaround 3. A little reluctant to do it, but do you know if workaround 3 will mess it all up when I hook the laptop up to the external monitor? It would be great to get it working when I'm using just the laptop, but not if it will have a negative impact on using an external monitor, then I am not so sure...

    Thanks & regards,
    Dorte

Added later: I use Studio 2017 - not an upgrade, since this is a new laptop.
