Apostrophes appear in different font and size font in Word document generated by Trados 2015.

Question

When I convert my English to French Canada translations back to Word, the apostrophes appear with a space and in New Times Roman 14 pt, even though everything else is in Arial 10 pt. What is causing this problem? Thanks

Hi Paul, 
 
Forgive me for trying something simple first. If you press Ctrl+Shift+H in the Studio editor so you see any formatting tags around the apostrophes? Maybe you just need to apply some formatting if it's important to have them in a different font. I must admit it sounds like a PDF conversion issue that makes them different in the first place and this may be unnecessary work on your part to apply formatting to them all separately.

Just when you think you've seen the strangest things!! Definitely a filetype issue in Studio with the old DOC filter. If I convert to DOCX the file is handled fine. I will log this (will separate out some simple text so it's anonymised) with development. Only workarounds I have for now would be to either search and replace the apostrophes in the target DOC file (you can do this with formatting too) or save the source as a DOCX first and then downsave afterwards.

 I just tested this in Word and it worked easily enough for me. 
 
 I could have searched for the specific font too I think, but this worked fine as a proof of concept. Not perfect because it shouldn't be needed in the first place, but not too hard to implement.
