I can't see tracked changes in imported sdlxliff files

Hello everyone,

I sent some sdlxliff files to an editor. She made some changes using tracked changes and sent them back to me. I replaced my files with her version, which is what I usually do in these cases, but I can't see any of her changes, and the files look exactly as I wrote them.

First I thought my method (replacing my files with hers) was causing the problem, so I created a new project with her files. Nothing, same result.

So I thought she wasn't doing it right, and I asked her to export the files with tracked changes. Those indeed reflect the changes, so I decided to export my files for review and replace them with her files. Nothing, Studio doesn't like that and tells me: this segment was not updated because the content of segment was changed since it was exported for external review.

I'm probably doing something wrong by replacing my sdlxliff files with the edited version, but then what's the best way to import an edited file to accept/reject changes?

Thank you!

Mónica

  • Yes, I'm sure. I've tried several times, on a couple of different days, just in case my brain wasn't working right. It's very strange, I've done this before with another reviewer and never had a problem.

Since we're in this topic, could you tell me what is the "correct" method to work with files that go to review and come back? What I've done is send the sdlxliff files to review. When I receive the sdlxliff files, I use them to replace my original sdlxliff files in the target language folder of my project while Studio is closed. Then I open Studio and my reviewed files are there.

    Is this the best method?

    Thank you!
